Fort Smith Police said one man has been arrested after a fight broke out Wednesday (Dec. 4) night, sending another man to the hospital.
Officers said they were called around 9:30 p.m. to 5715 Towson Avenue where a man was found lying on the pavement, bleeding from his face.
Police say the victim, Gregory Stone, was unconscious when they arrived on scene. He suffered trauma to his face, but officers said they were not sure if he had fallen or if he’d been assaulted.
Stone was taken to Sparks Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to officers.
Police then opened an investigation and looked through security video footage and determined that Stone had been assaulted earlier Wednesday night.
Kaylon Gates has been arrested in connection to the altercation. He is being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center.
