A tree fell on a Fort Smith home Thursday night as winter storms pounded the area.
Branches and part of a tree fell through a wooden fence and onto a local man’s house on Hendricks Boulevard, causing damage and giving the man a shock.
Kelley Faitala said he was inside of the house at the time, but was unharmed. He reported hearing thunder just before the tree fell onto the home around 8:30 p.m.
“After the thunder, all of a sudden, ‘Boom!” Faitala said.
Faitala recently moved to the area from Long Beach, Calif., he said.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Faitala said.
