Voters in Greenwood overwhelmingly approved a tax increase Tuesday night to pay for a new police station.
The quarter-cent sales tax is slated to build a new facility for the Greenwood Police Department at the site of the Old Post Office building near the center of town.
Voters passed the measure 213 (74 percent) to 74 (26 percent), according to results released Tuesday night by Sebastian County officials.
The new facility will give the police department 10,000 square feet of space.
