Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville schools will hold classes Thursday for the first time since snow and ice rolled into the area late last week, dropping several inches of snow and creating slippery streets.

The school districts announced Wednesday afternoon that schools would resume classes Thursday. Most area schools have been off since last Thursday (Dec. 5).

Fayetteville and Rogers school districts will have limited bus service Thursday. Rogers buses will be limited in Garfield, Avoca and east of the Highway 12 Bridge, according to the Rogers School District.

Springdale administrators released a statement saying bus routes would “run normal routes as much as possible.

Bentonville school officials are still determining bus routes and will put transportation information on the school district’s Facebook page, said Mary Ley, school district spokeswoman.

Fayetteville students will have to attend Saturday classes to make up for the lost school days, with students in Bentonville slated to lose holidays because of the snow days.
