Bikes, Blues and BBQ presented the Fayetteville Police Department with a $4,274.58 check to reimburse them for a special events security training they attended in San Diego, CA.

The police department requested financial assistance for this seminar to acquire education in crowd management and liability prevention.

“Our Board of Directors chose to pay for pretty much the whole thing and we are very proud of that,” said Joe Giles, the rally’s executive director. “We’ve got such a great relationship with the FPD and anything we can do to help them out we like to because quite frankly they help us out a whole lot.”

In 2013, the non-profit organization spent $77,794.69 for private security as well as police, fire and emergency services.

There were 18 arrests during the 2013 motorcycle rally compared to 26 arrests in 2012.
