Drug agents arrested a Fayetteville man Tuesday after finding 24 marijuana plants and a growing operation in his home during a drug raid, according to the local drug task force.

Bryan A. Wise, 30, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm. He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives with the Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force, a local drug agency made up of police from area departments, received a tip of a possible marijuana-growing operation at 1869 Radcliffe Ave. When they went to investigate, detectives discovered black plastic covering the garage windows and the humming of electrical equipment, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

After a woman at the home denied detectives the ability to search the residence, drug agents staked out the location and obtained a search warrant, the report states.

While executing a search warrant, Wise allegedly admitted to police that the marijuana inside was his, police said. Detectives found 24 marijuana plants “in various stages of growth, from seedling plants to mature plants over six feet tall,” the preliminary report states.

Agents also seized grow equipment, grow lights, power inverters, grow chemicals, marijuana clippings, psilocybin mushrooms and an unknown white powder. Detectives also found an unknown crystal substance in two mason jars, along with a .12-gauge shotgun with ammunition in the master bedroom, according to the preliminary report.

Wise is due in Washington County Circuit Court on Friday for a hearing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
