Deputies found a car with a gun, ammunition and drugs inside after a motorist fled the vehicle at a Sheriff’s Office checkpoint in Benton County on New Year’s Eve, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are still searching for the motorist, although deputies believe they have identified the subject, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Benton County deputies set up three sobriety checkpoints Tuesday night and made 12 arrests, including two minors who face charges of possession of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators also worked an alcohol-related traffic crash that had no serious injuries. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, deputies said.
