Trash Collection Suspended Because Of Weather

Snowplow in Benton County early Sunday (Jan. 5)

Trash collection has been suspended in Fayetteville and Bentonville due to the winter weather and road conditions, city officials announced Monday.

The City of Fayetteville suspended waste collection services Monday, and released a statement later in the day saying garbage collection would continue to be suspended “due to the extreme ice and poor road conditions on residential side streets.”

While services will be delayed until road conditions improve, city officials have scheduled trash collection to resume Wednesday, said Brian Pugh, waste reduction coordinator for Fayetteville Solid Waste and Recycling.

Bentonville suspended trash service Monday and said collection would continue when the weather and road conditions improved. The city has not released information concerning whether the suspension of service would continue into Tuesday.

so this is twice. Assuming it will be another week on regular schedule before trash is picked up. This is twice this winter. 2 more times and we are looking at 1 month of making a payment and not receiving a service. Does this mean the trash company will revise everyones bill for the service they paid for and have not received?

If you are a salaried worker, would you expect not to get paid if you couldn’t come in because of weather. They are doing there job, just on another day.

I understand they should be paid, but our area was skipped for a week–we totally missed pick up. Looks like the same thing this week.
