Calli Berna is in the process of putting up one of the best seasons for an Arkansas point guard in school history.
The Razorbacks’ guard leads the SEC and is fourth in the NCAA with 128 assists through Arkansas’ first 17 games. Berna is also fourth in the country in assist/turnover ratio at 3.7.
Berna was one of 29 players named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List on Tues. as the nation’s top point guard.
“I’m honored to be on that list,” Berna said. “There’s a bunch of point guards on that list that I’m honored to be listed beside. But, I know that I wouldn’t be there without my teammates. I know that they’re right beside me and they’re helping me get these wins. Any accolade that I get is my team’s accolade.”
Berna, a junior from Fayetteville, has 424 career assists and is averaging 7.5 a game this season to go along with just less than seven points a game.
Arkansas (14-3) is back in action on Thurs. as they travel to Georgia.
