The weather in other parts of the country had  many travelers stranded at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport on Wednesday.

Four arriving flights and one departure flight were cancelled at XNA on Wednesday. The cancellations involved air travel to and from Chicago, New Jersey and New York, all of which were cities hit hard by severe winter weather.

Along with cancellations, many flights were delayed. Anthony Ravi lives in New Jersey and spent the day trying to find a way to get out.

"I better get back today," Ravi said.  "I am getting back today no matter what. I have things I have to do Thursday and have responsibilities to take care of. They better get me out today no matter what."

Chris Seys' flight home to Minneapolis was delayed. Seys said he tried to stay calm.

"There's really not much you can do, but try and deal with it and catch another flight as soon as you can," he said.

And despite all of the traveling chaos on Wednesday, people seemed to have one common goal. They wanted to get to their destination.

"I hope I get home," said Seys. "It's not looking good, but I hope I do."

According to a flight tracking website, more than 1,500 flights were cancelled nationwide Wednesday.
