Charges have been dropped against a Springdale man arrested last year in an aggravated assault case, according to court documents.

Monte Jordan, 46, said he is innocent of any wrongdoing in the case, and the incident never made it to trial. The prosecutor signed a document dropping the charges against Jordan.

Jordan was arrested in April 2013 after police said he waved a gun and threatened to kill anyone who came into his house. Jordan told 5NEWS the charges were baseless, and the situation did not happen as police recounted.

Jordan was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at the time on $5,000 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. He faced charges at the time of aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.

A woman had told police Jordan was screaming when she got home, and that he got his gun and pointed it at her numerous times while screaming curses, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police responded to the residence and arrested Jordan without incident, the report states.
