Authorities prepared Tuesday for a tough day of traffic crashes because of snow and ice on the roads. But emergency crews say they were surprised by how quiet their day was.

Streets were slick and slushy Tuesday night near the intersection of Eighth Street and Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers. Rogers police responded early Tuesday afternoon to the same intersection for one of only a few weather-related wrecks in Northwest Arkansas on Tuesday, according to local police.

No injuries were reported, but one Ford station wagon and a light pole suffered major damage during a crash.

No major accidents or severe injuries were reported in areas such as Siloam Springs and Pea Ridge.

Officers said they were actually surprised about how quiet it was Tuesday, especially since the roads were still  slick county-wide.

The Rogers area saw close to 2 inches mixed together Tuesday.
