Michael Qualls has had his fair share of struggles since SEC play began six weeks ago.
He made up for them all with on shot on Saturday.
Qualls buried a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left at Vanderbilt to lift Arkansas to a 77-75 win in Nashville.
Arkansas (15-8, 4-6 SEC) led by as much as nine points in the second half but saw that lead evaporate. Vanderbilt used an 18-6 run to take a 71-68 lead with less than three minutes left. Rashad Madden tied the game with a 3-pointer then again knotted the game with a jumper with 1:28 remaining.
Vanderbilt led 75-74 after Kyle Fuller hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left, leading to Qualls’ game winner.
The Commodores had a chance to win but Rod Odom’s 3-pointer at the buzzer bounced off the rim.
Qualls finished with a team high 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting while Coty Clarke added 14. Madden, Bobby Portis and Mardracus Wade combined for 31 points.
Vanderbilt got 22 points from Odom and 20 points from Fuller.
