Deputies Seize 16 Pounds Of Pot, $4,200 In Recent Drug Busts
Benton County investigators have seized more than 16 pounds of marijuana and other drugs in two separate drug busts over the past four days, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Courtney Day and Dava Hupp were arrested Feb. 6 on suspicion of possession of drugs with purpose to deliver. Day also faces an additional charge of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Day remained Monday in the Benton County Jail on $25,000 bond, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division executed a search warrant on a Siloam Springs home and found 13 pounds of marijuana and a firearm, deputies said. During the investigation, two women arrived at the home with marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and cash, investigators said.
Both Jamie Porter and Cheryl Hibbard were then arrested on suspicion of drug possession. Both later bonded out of the Benton County Jail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
In a separate case Sunday, a Benton County detective stopped a black Honda Accord driven by Gustavo Ballesteros in Bella Vista, finding a quarter-pound of marijuana in the vehicle, the detective said. A later search of the suspect’s home yielded 1,200 grams of marijuana, digital scales, smoking pipes, an electric bill counter and $4,280 in cash, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Ballesteros was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Benton County Jail and later bonded out, deputies said.
Detectives over the last week have also conducted four other search warrants, including a search of a package containing a half-pound of marijuana being shipped to Benton County from Fresno Calif., according to the Sheriff’s Office.
