A grass fire got out of control north of Alma on Gregory Chapel Road earlier today, according to a rural firefighter on the scene.
What started out as a controlled burn escalated to flames that got out of hand thanks to high winds in the area.
At one point, the fire threatened homes, but the flames are now back under control, and the situation is no longer dangerous.
No one was home on the property the fire started on at the time, but one neighbor was injured trying to put out the flames.
At this time, it is unknown exactly how many acres burned.
