Manhunt Underway After Fort Smith Stabbing, Suspect Identified

Police have identified the suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing in Fort Smith Tuesday evening (Feb. 18).

Police have identified the suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing in Fort Smith Tuesday evening (Feb. 18).

Fort Smith police are searching for Colby Austin Millsap, 37, after eyewitnesses said he stabbed another man around 8 p.m. near 2117 Bluff Avenue. The two men had been drinking together prior to the incident, according to police.

The victim, Joseph Queen, 26, suffered a stab wound to the left side of the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital by an ambulance after the fight, police said.

According to eyewitness reports to police, one of the men made a derogatory comment about a family member and the two began to argue. The men separated and returned to their neighboring residences, police said.

Millsap returned to Queen's house later and challenged him to come outside, according to reports. A fight broke out, and Queen was stabbed. Police said Millsap left the scene on foot.

"The next thing I know Joey's screaming, 'I was stabbed!' and there was blood everywhere," said eyewitness Ronna Day who had blood on her shirt and legs at the time of the interview. "I threw the knife up the hill, called the police."

Millsap recently moved back to the area, according to police, and is believed to have ties in Fort Smith and Van Buren.

Anyone with information about Mr. Millsap or his whereabouts is asked to call the Fort Smith Police Department at (479) 709-5100 or dial 78-CRIME.
