18-year-old Seth Adams, accused in a recent bomb scare, had his arraignment rescheduled for March 31st in Washington County.

The Fayetteville teen was arrested in February after police say they found a pipe bomb in the back seat of his car while responding to a suicide call.

Police and members of the Bentonville Bomb Squad responded to a bomb scare call in a Fayetteville neighborhood, authorities said. The bomb was disabled, and the area was declared safe.

"I had a policeman knock on my door and let me know that the bomb was there and I should try to stay in the back of the house for awhile," said Greg Dexter, who lives on Ash Street.

Officers arrested Adams in connection with the bomb scare. He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on suspicion of criminal use of a prohibited weapon, illegal possession of firearms and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

5NEWS spoke with the suspect's girlfriend, Chelsea Franklin who said the entire ordeal was a big misunderstanding and that Adams is a great person.

"He likes football and baseball, he has his G.E.D. ,and he wants to be a mechanic and have a better life," Franklin told 5NEWS reporter Austin Reed.

Responding officers discovered Adams in a car on Ash Street. He had allegedly threatened to commit suicide and had a pipe bomb in the backseat of his car. Police arrested Adams and disabled the device, said Sgt. Craig Stout with the Fayetteville Police Department.

As for what's next in the incident, Franklin's girlfriend said, "I hope that he gets out of jail and comes home to me."

Police had closed Sycamore Street near College Avenue in response to the bomb scare.

Authorities say Adams is currently out of jail on bond.
