The Fayetteville man who pleaded guilty last year to secretly videotaping his sexual encounters started serving his sentence Friday, according to court documents.

Travis Lunsford, 40, pleaded guilty last August to a felony charge of habitual video voyeurism. He was sentenced to eight years in state prison and a 12-year suspended sentence, court records show. Lunsford was booked Friday into the Washington County Detention Center by deputies, with a hold for the Arkansas Department of Correction, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Fayetteville police received an anonymous letter in November 2012 that a man was secretly videotaping consensual sexual encounters with women. The letter also included a flash drive with 12 videos of adults having sex, Sgt. Craig Stout with the Fayetteville Police Department said.

While investigating, detectives identified one woman in the video. The alleged victim told police she knew the suspect and had engaged in sexual activity with him. She said she did not know she was being recorded, according to police.

Following an investigation, Lunsford was arrested by Fayetteville police in January 2013.

Other alleged victims in the videos had not been identified.
