A train lovers dream Saturday in Springdale. People from all over the region were at the Northwest Arkansas Model Train Show. Organizers said close to 50 vendors were on hand, with some elaborate train sets.

More than two thousand people showed up for the model train show.

"It's a win win for the people of Northwest Arkansas to come out and see trains,  to purchase trains  and for the vendors to sell trains," said Keith Johnson with the Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club.

Organizers said 45 vendors and 200 tables were at the event.

"They are selling different scales of model trains," Johnson said. "We even have some real stuff here. We have pictures, we've got pins. Just you name it, if it has to do with railroads, it's usually here."

Five year old Trenton Ballinger loves trains, and said he wants to be a train engineer when he grows up.

"When I was a baby, I chose to like trains," he said.

Ballinger said his favorite type of train is a steam engine.

Dillon Melvin is also a big train fan, and told us he had fun looking at all of the different types of trains on display.

"My jaw hit the floor when I saw the model trains up for sale," he said.

This was the 11th year for the model train show. Organizers said they are already looking forward to planning next year's event.
