Arkansas found themselves in a tight game late for the second straight day with Eastern Illinois. But Tyler Spoon wasn’t going to let the home crowd leave without a smile.
Spoon’s three run double in the 8th inning blew open the series finale as Arkansas posted an 8-3 win to complete the three game sweep.
Eastern Illinois had taken a 3-2 lead after scoring all three runs in the top of the 7th inning but Arkansas’ offense quickly responded.
Brian Anderson tied the game with a RBI single in the 7th inning then Spoon put the Razorbacks in front for good with a bases clearing double the following inning.
Spoon has driven in nine runs in Arkansas’ first six games.
Arkansas is back home next weekend as they host South Alabama for a three game series.
