A pedestrian was hospitalized Monday (Feb. 24) after being struck by a sport utility vehicle in Rogers, police said.
Tommy Watson, believed to be 58-years-old, was taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale with minor injuries, police said.
Watson was walking northbound on South 8th Street when he was hit just before 8 a.m. by a 1991 Ford Explorer driven by Nancy Johnson, police said. Johnson received an improper-driving citation in the incident, according to police.
Johnson was southbound in the SUV on South 8th Street and stopped to wait for northbound traffic to clear so she could turn into the Eighth Street Motel at 915 South 8th St, investigators said. Johnson told investigators the northbound traffic was stationary but she was waved through by a motorist to turn onto the Eighth Street Motel parking lot, police said. As she entered the private driveway, she struck the pedestrian, police said.
