A Logan County inmate has escaped from jail for a second time in less than six months.

Authorities are searching for Gary Patrick Topham.

"Topham escaped yesterday (Feb. 24) while on his yard call between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. yesterday in the afternoon," said Logan County Chief Deputy David Spicer.

Topham wasn't reported missing until 4 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 25).

"For whatever reason we don`t believe the jailers that were on duty at the time took notice that when they brought people in that they brought in everybody that was supposed to," Spicer said.

Topham, 49, was being held in Logan County Jail in Paris where he waiting to be taken to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Facebook page.

He was last seen wearing a black and white striped jail uniform with orange sandals. He’s approximately six feet tall and 165 pounds.

The Sheriff’s office said details of the escape are under investigation.

Topham escaped the Logan County Jail last November by scaling a chain-link fence that surrounds the exercise yard, according to authorities. He was captured in Booneville three days later. At that time, Topham was being held at the jail on suspicion of drug and failure to appear charges.

If you see Topham or know of his whereabouts, call 911 or (479)963-3271.
