After almost a year, Scott county has a sponsor to fix their broken levee.

Flooding last spring damaged the levee, destroyed homes and killed five people, including Scott county sheriff Cody Carpenter and Arkansas Game and Fish warden Joel Campora.

Scott county judge James Forbes said after months of searching, the poteu water conservation district has agreed to sponsor the leevee.

According to county officials, once all the paperwork is signed and they find a contractor they will have the levee fixed within three months.
