Topham captured

Logan County Jail escapee Gary Topham was captured by Del City, Okla., police on Sunday about 12:15 p.m., according to the Logan County, Ark., Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

The Sheriff’s Office received a tip that Topham was in the Oklahoma City area with a family member, according to the Facebook page. (The photograph with this story was copied from the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.)

Using jail records and information from the Arkansas Department of Correction, authorities found a name and address of one of his family members in Del City, Okla., the Facebook page states.

That information and a photo of Topham, 49, were forwarded to Del City police, who then made the arrest, according to the Facebook page.

Topham escaped from the Logan County Jail in Paris on Feb. 24 but wasn’t reported missing until the next day.

Topham was awaiting transportation to a state prison after being convicted of possessing drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, records show.

This was his second escape from the jail.

Topham escaped from the Logan County Jail last November by scaling a chain-link fence that surrounds the exercise yard, according to authorities. He was captured in Booneville three days later. At that time, Topham was being held at the jail on suspicion of drug and failure to appear charges.
