It didn’t take long for Josh Ferrell to make an impact at the University of the Ozarks.

Ferrell, a West Fork native, averaged 11.8 points per game, 2.1 steals and started in all 25 games for the Eagles. Tuesday he was honored by being named the American Southwest Conference Freshman of the Year. Ferrell was also named to the conference’s All-Freshman team.

Ferrell led the league in minutes played under first year head coach, and his father, David Ferrell.

Ozarks finished the year going 8-17.
