At approximately 1 pm on Thursday (March 6), the Pope County Sheriff’s Office received information from a concerned citizen of a possible runaway near Hector.

The citizen said that a 17-year-old female approached his vehicle and asked for a ride to Fort Smith. She was reportedly running away from home.

The citizen wasn’t going that way, so, they took her to a business in Hector. The man stated that he dropped her off at the business and contacted authorities.

Some time later, it is believed she got a ride from Hector to a truck stop in Russellville. It’s also believed that she received a ride to the Fort Smith area (where her father lives) after that.

The mother was eventually located, and the Pope County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate and alert her to her daughter’s disappearance (she was unaware).

The runaway female has been identified as Jennifer Machelle Delcomyn (age 17).

She is described as a white girl with long red hair that she wears both straight and curly.

Anyone with information on her situation is encouraged to call the Pope County Sheriff’s Office at 479-968-2558.
