The U.S. Marshals Museum Board of Directors will learn the identity of a donor Tuesday (March 11) which will fund a national lecture series.

Jim Dunn, President and CEO of the Marshals Museum, said funding for the program comes from a “prominent source in Arkansas,” but declined to specify the donor until the board had been notified first.

The announcement will come at the board’s regularly scheduled quarterly meeting beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Several large donations have helped get the $50 million dollar project one step closer to completion, including a $2 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation.

Dunn said the agenda for the meeting also includes the museum’s construction schedule following its ground breaking on September 24. Following the board meeting, a committee will also meet to discuss building a “Trail of Tears monument by the five civilized tribes,” according to Dunn.

The U.S. Marshals Museum is currently holding a four-part lecture series about the “Guns of the Frontier.” The next session is scheduled for Monday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m.
