University of Arkansas Police search for a suspect in an attempted kidnapping.

Police said a female student reported walking in the area of Lindell Ave. and Douglas St. in Fayetteville when a man pulled up and tried to get her into his vehicle. According to police, she struggled and was able to get away unharmed.

Captain Matt Mills of University of Arkansas Police said he did not know where the woman was going, but the area where the attempted kidnapping happened is near a large parking garage and a dorm.

"The only description we have at this point is a white male approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a dark colored shirt. He had dark hair and was wearing possible tan pants," said Captain Mills.

Captain Mills said UAPD was not able to put extra patrols in the area, but they did alert students with a RazAlert, which also included safety tips.

Anyone with information on the attempted kidnapping is asked to contact the University of Arkansas Police at 479-575-2222.
