Arkansas Business – The Arkansas Legislature has voted to override Gov. Mike Beebe’s veto of a $5 million tax exemption for natural gas drillers.
House members on Wednesday voted 55-41 in favor of the override. The Senate followed with a 26-7 vote.
Both chambers then voted to adjourn the fiscal session, though House members are to vote on a speaker-designate.
Beebe said it was unconstitutional to include the tax break in a state agency’s budget bill.
