Registered Sex Offender Suspected Of Sending Nude Pictures to Juveniles

A Johnson County  sex offender accused of sending nude pictures to minors was arrested Thursday (March 20) and is facing several new charges.

This, after a mother monitoring her daughter’s Facebook page went to authorities, according to Johnson County Sheriff Jimmy Dorney.

Zackery Shadwick, 33, of Knoxville, Ark., was arrested after Johnson County detectives said he sent nude pictures of himself to underage girls. The girls also sent pictures of themselves to Shadwick, according to deputies.

Shadwick is also accused of picking the girls up from a local school in January and taking them off campus, officials said.

“He communicated with them either by Facebook or by text message, and he just drove up to the school where they were waiting and they willingly got in the car with him and left,” said Sheriff Jimmy Dorney with the Johnson County Sheriffs Office.

Investigators said Shadwick used several fraudulent Facebook accounts to communicate with the underage girls. The social media profiles were created with email accounts which he did not report under his Arkansas Sex Offender Registration requirements.

Shadwick is a Level 3 sex offender. He is facing new charges of possessing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, sex offender entering school property and failure to comply with sex offender registration.

According to Dorney, the investigation is still open.

Dorney said he credits the parent who came forward with taking the first step.

“We have a parent out there whose interested in what their child is doing, and is monitoring their children’s activities, and was able to catch this before it escalated into something else,” said Dorney.
