After a thorough investigation, the Bentonville Police Department arrested Shawn Allen Scott, 32, of Bentonville, for rape, which is a Class Y Felony, according to Captain Justin Thompson with the Bentonville Police Department.
The investigation alleges that Scott engaged in Deviate Sexual Activity with a female victim that was 13 years of age at the time of the offense, according to Thompson.
The crime reportedly happened three years ago. Scott and victim were acquaintances.
Rape is a Class Y Felony, and it is punishable by a sentence of 10 to 40 years or life in prison. Scott is currently at the Benton County Sheriff’s Office pending a bond hearing.
