KTHV – March 29, 2014 marks one year since an ExxonMobil oil pipeline ruptured in the central Arkansas town of Mayflower, spilling more than 200,000 gallons of oil into a neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Families were forced out of their homes, some of which were later demolished; hundreds of animals died from oil exposure; lawsuits were filed; and ExxonMobil setup a temporary home in Mayflower to deal with the aftermath.

But one year later … residents in the small town continue to regain a sense of normalcy in the area, how it was before their hometown made national headlines.
