The Fayetteville City Council on Tuesday night approved spending $98,707 to pay for three new snow plow pickup trucks, after three other trucks used for snow removal wore out.
Aldermen voted unanimously to allocate the money, which will be used to purchase three Ford F-250 pickup trucks with Meyer snow plows. The vehicles will replace a 2002 Ford F-250 snow plow truck that was scheduled for replacement in 2012, along with two 2004 F-250 trucks used by the city’s Transportation Division that have since worn out, according to a memo forwarded to council members from the city’s fleet operations superintendent.
The vehicles cost $32,902 each and will be paid for out of capital and operations budgets, according to city documents.
