Walmart will hire up to 95 associates to work at their new Neighborhood Market store in Centerton, according to a news release Thursday.

A temporary hiring center has opened at 1120 S. Walton Blvd., Suite 124 in Bentonville.

Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, according to the news release.

“Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.* Interested veterans may find out more by clicking here,” the news release states.

The store will hire both full-time and part-time associates.

“We are excited to add the first Walmart Neighborhood Market to Centerton and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” said Shultz.

“Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates. For example, it provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance,” the news release states.

The majority of new associates will start work in May to help prepare the store for the grand opening.

Veterans must be within 12 months of active duty and meet Walmart’s standard hiring criteria.
