A local church fed over 700 people during their annual Grocery Giveaway Sunday (April 6) morning in the River Valley.
Matthew Stevenson, Associate Pastor of Evangel Temple in Fort Smith, said it was the 24th for the event and each year it gets bigger.
Stevenson said they hold the giveaway every spring, and over the years they had the opportunity to help more than 100,000 people.
The pastor said people who showed up did not have to bring anything, and the church gave each family one bag a piece.
He said all items given away were donated.
Stevenson said they make a list for each bag to ensure every bag gets the same amount of food.
