Although she grew up in Greenwood, she was never a fan of the Hogs.

Wednesday's victory at Arkansas was that much sweeter as Tulsa took down the Razorbacks 4-1.

But, Wednesday was as if Jill Barrett was playing on her home turf.

"My mom and dad and all their friends and family got to come out and watch,” Barrett said. “It's good to be able to get a win in front of the home crowd."

But not only that, this girl is on fire. Announced today by USA Softball, Barrett and one other teammate were named as Top 25 finalists for 2014 Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. Going into tonight, Barrett was also ranked fourth in the nation with a .496 batting average.

“Like I always tell Coach Allen, it's like playing golf. I was coming in one over par, and I always try to get back to par which would be 500. That's how I think of it."

Barrett leads her team in almost every offensive category. But, she says she wouldn't be there if it weren't for everyone else out on the field with her.

"As a team we've hit the bats. Our pitchers have done extremely well. I think we have the second pitching ERA in the nation right now. So it's a team effort, its not just any one person."

A humble approach to an amazing season, and even better playing almost at home.
