Pro-angler Travis Fox is in 13th place after the first day of the Walmart FLW Tour. He lives in Rogers, Arkansas and learned how to fish at Beaver Lake.

There are 173 professionals in the competition this year. Each fishes with a co-angler.

Fox lived in Joplin, MO and moved to Northwest Arkansas when he was 16 years old.

He said the first time he came to Beaver Lake as a boy he caught a crawdad. He said Beaver Lake is a great lake to learn how to fish.

As the second day for the FLW tour started, he said he'll be fishing the same way he did the first day.

"With the warmer weather, I think that it's only going to get better," Fox said. "I don't think that the weights are going to be worse, I think that it will be better because there are so many fish up and moving around."

According to his angler profile, he has won $189,263 in his career as well as win one tournament and finish in the top 10, 12 times.

Fox has been part of the FLW Tour for eight years.

"A lot of people say, 'I've been fishing out my hole and I caught them all today, they aren't going to replenish,'" Fox said. "But this time of year, they fish are cruising. They're going to replenish."

Fox has his family as support during this tour at Beaver Lake since it's close to home.

"Actually my mom lives in Joplin so she drove down here, she took the whole week off of work to watch me fish so there was a lot of pressure and you have to catch them if mom is watching," Fox said.

There are two other pro-anglers from Northwest Arkansas. Greg Bohannan is from Rogers and Robbie Dodson is from Harrison.

Shirley Crain is the only woman in the pro-division. She's from Fort Smith.
