LSU’s walk off base hit takes series from Razorbacks

For the second straight day, the late innings were unkind to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

LSU held off a late rally in the SEC series opener on Friday then the Tigers followed that up by scoring a run in the ninth inning to take down the Razorbacks 5-4 on Saturday.

Mark Laird singled to left, driving in Jake Fraley from second, to give the series to LSU. The final game of the series is set for Sunday afternoon.

Arkansas pitcher Jalen Beeks received a no-decision after throwing eight innings while allowing three earned runs and struck out seven.

Eric Fisher led the Arkansas offense with two hits, including his fourth home run of the season. Fisher has homered in each of the first two games of the series.
