Oklahoma Highway Patrol shut down part of I-40 Sunday (April 13) afternoon, after a truck carrying military equipment caught fire.
According to OHP, a truck caught fire while traveling on I-40 near Vian, forcing authorities to temporarily shut down the interstate to divert traffic around it.
Authorities said the truck’s axle caught on fire after the brakes locked up. The truck was not military owned, but was carrying military equipment, authorities said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
