Benton County House Destroyed By Lightning

A house in Benton County was destroyed after being struck by lightning Sunday night (April 13) as storms rolled through the area, officials said.

Fire officials said they are letting the house smolder and burn itself out.

The house is near the intersection of Mary Hill Drive and W.P.A Road in rural Benton County near Decatur.

Officials said the house was abandoned. This was the only report of damage in Benton County caused by overnight storms.
