Ozark Regional Transit will make changes to their Route 47 in Fayetteville and Johnson.

The transit company announced via a news release Tuesday (April 22) that Route 47 will now travel north on South Wilkerson to Johnson, then, turn east on Main Drive after, and again prior, to the bus stop at the Northwest Arkansas Mall.

This gives Johnson its second route this year and should serve the city for the foreseeable future, according to the news release.

The route will still run east to stop on Joyce Blvd., including the Park Apartments and Fayetteville Athletic Club, but it will now serve the Social Security Office via Joyce Street, rather than the parking lot.

“Another deviation from the previous route includes moving part of the southern leg from Steele Blvd. to N. Mall Ave. to once again service the Wal-Mart at Joyce and Mall Ave.  Malco’s Razorback Cinema and Academy Sports will therefore be serviced from Mall Ave. rather than Steele,” the news release states.

The route will continue to service Washington Regional Medical Center, the Target/Kohl’s Shopping Center and the University of Arkansas Spring International Building.

The news release concluded, “ORT is commited to providing bus service to as many of the communites’ patrons and as many of the desired locations as possible with the existing bus fleet. This is another change that we hope, serves to more effectively accomplish that goal.”
