A deadly motorcycle accident in Sequoyah County leaves one woman dead, and sends another man to the hospital.

Investigators say the driver, Jimmie Lovell, 72, from Muldrow was drinking when he crashed on Highway 59 near Sallisaw, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Peggy Sue Taylor, 63, who was riding on the back of the bike, was pronounced dead on scene.

Lovell was taken to a Fort Smith hospital with life-threatening leg, arm and trunk injuries. There, authorities tested his blood for alcohol and determined Lovell had been drinking at the time of the accident.

As of Wednesday morning (April 23rd), Lovell is in stable condition, according to authorities.

No word yet on funeral plans for Taylor.
