The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department announced a list of road improvements on Tuesday (April 22).

Benton County

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid to resurface 3.5 miles of Highway 71B in Rogers. The work will extend north from Pleasant Grove to West Walnut Street, according to a news release from the AHTD.

AAPAC-Central, Inc. of Fayetteville was awarded the contract at $972,170.57.

Also approved was a bid for resurfacing 1.7 miles of streets in Cave Springs and 0.8 miles of streets in Sulphur Springs. Below is a list of the work approved.

Various Road Improvements Underway

The contract of $302,556.15 was awarded to Hutchens Construction Company of Cassville, Missouri.

Crawford County

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid to resurface 2.5 miles of Highway 64 in Van Buren. This work extends from Highway 59 (S. 4th Street) to just east of I-540.

Forsgren, Inc. of Fort Smith was awarded the contract of $1,099,709.55, according to the news release.

Franklin County

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid to resurface 6 miles of Highway 41 and 2.5 miles of Highway 398 east of Charleston. The work on Highway 41 will push north from Highway 22 near Branch. The work on Highway 398 will extend east from highway 41, north of Branch.

Blackstone Construction, LLC of Russellville was awarded the contract at $1,374,200.50.

A bid was also approved to reconstruct 8.3 miles of I-40. The work will extend east from Ozark to Highway 164. Blackstone Construction of Russellville was awarded the contract at $6,904,140.58, according to the news release.

Johnson County

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid for improvements to a road in Johnson County.

The purpose of the project is to resurface 6.8 miles of Highway 64 at the following locations:

  • Franklin County line to North Main Street in Coal Hill.
  • Highway 164 (East of Coal Hill) to Highway 194.
  • East of Interstate 40 to near Ray Road in Clarksville.

Blackstone Construction, LLC of Russellville was awarded the contract at $1,147,856.20.

Sebastian County

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid to resurface 3.3 miles of Highway 22 (Rogers Ave.) in Fort Smith. The work will be performed between Garrison Ave. and I-540.

Forsgren, Inc. of Fort Smith was awarded the contract of $1,267,477.50, according to the news release.

Washington County

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid to resurface 1.7 miles of Highway 412 (E. Henri De Tonti Blvd.) in Tontitown. The work will push west from near Highway 112 (Maestri Road) to just east of Gum Springs Road, according to the news release.

Hutchens Construction of Cassville, Missouri was awarded the contract at $634,940.45.

Also approved was a bid to resurface 1.9 miles of streets in Elkins and 1.7 miles in Farmington.
