Widespread severe thunderstorms with a higher than normal risk of strong to violent tornadoes will develop in the afternoon and evening across Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.

High resolution computer models are showing development around 3-4pm in SE Oklahoma with the threat spreading northeast into Northwest Arkansas with time. These will be discrete, supercell thunderstorms capable of very large hail up to baseball size, wind gusts to 90mph, & risk of strong tornadoes.

Storms will begin on a surface dryline which was located east of Oklahoma City at Noon on Sunday. The dryline is expected to enter Eastern Oklahoma around 3pm and will result in thunderstorm develop.

The storms will be out of the area by midnight, if not earlier, with cooler than normal weather expected for the upcoming week.
