Scoring runs continues to be a problem for Arkansas in SEC play.
Ole Miss jumped out to an early lead and held off a late Razorbacks surge as the Rebels posted a 3-2 win in the SEC series opener.
Trey Killian was again saddled with a loss after throwing eight innings while allowing three runs and striking out three.
The Rebels (34-13, 14-8) jumped out to a 3-0 after plating two in the fourth inning off Killian.
Arkansas (29-19, 10-12) started to mount a rally as Tyler Spoon’s two-run triple in the fifth closed the gap to 3-2 but the Razorbacks couldn’t figure out Aaron Greenwood. The right hander threw three perfect innings and struck out four to pick up the save for Ole Miss.
Arkansas and Ole Miss continue the series on Saturday.
