The first U.S. case of MERS-CoV was recently reported in Indiana, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

MERS-CoV, is short for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, and it’s a type of coronavirus, according to affiliate station WXIN.

The CDC and Indiana State Department of Health are conducting a joint investigation of this case, WXIN reported.
