Police Identify Man Killed After Truck Hit Trees, Flipped Over

Police on Friday identified the man they say was killed when he ran his truck off of the highway in Franklin County.

Timothy Chaffin, 39, was driving his GMC pickup truck southbound on Arkansas 215 when he ran off of the roadway while turning on a curve. The truck went down an embankment and struck several trees before flipping over, according to an Arkansas State Police crash report.

Chaffin, of Charleston, was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The weather was clear and dry at the time of the wreck, around 5:25 p.m., according to the crash report.

No one else was injured in the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.
