Death Of A Baby Makes Mayflower/Vilonia Tornado Deadliest To Hit Arkansas In 46 Years

The EF4 tornado that hit Mayflower and Vilonia has now been declared the deadliest single tornado to hit Arkansas since 1968, according to the National Weather Service.

The passing of a baby in Faulkner County has raised the death toll from the Mayflower/Vilonia tornado that hit on April 27, 2014 to 16, according to the weather service.

This makes it the deadliest single tornado in Arkansas since a tornado struck on May 15, 1968, the weather service said. That twister affected the Tuckerman and Jonesboro area, killing 35.
