Dale Harpenau will have one last shot at a Heartland Conference championship before he’s done at UAFS.

The Lions will be the No. 4 seed in this week’s conference tournament in Georgetown, Texas.

UAFS (25-24, 14-16)  will face No. 1 seed St. Edwards (36-13, 23-7) Thursday at 5 p.m. in the double elimination, four team tournament.

Harpenau announced his resignation last week after 16 seasons with the Lions but will finish out the season.

No. 2 seed St. Mary’s (32-18, 18-12) kicks off the tournament against No. 3 Newman (24-24, 17-13) at 1 p.m.

Lubbock Christian (39-10, 26-4) finished with the top record in the league but is ineligible for postseason play as they are in a transition year to the NCAA division II level. Oklahoma Christian (32-15, 19-11) finished third but is also ineligible for the postseason.
