A company is planning fuel pipeline that will cost $150 million to run from Fort Smith to Little Rock.

Officials say this will mean fewer tanker trucks on Interstate 40, according to affiliate station KTHV.

Magellan Midstream Partners of Tulsa have set an agreement with a gas transmission company to use 160 miles of an existing 12-inch pipeline, and they’ll complete the project with 50 miles of new construction, according to KTHV.

The project, announced Tuesday (May 6), will contain a 38-mile north-south connection that reaches Little Rock, KTHV reported.
